Hello!
Our first ever What Are You Reading comes from Roz Kidd, one of our Ki Agency agents.
Tell us about yourself! I’m an agent for screenwriters at The Ki Agency. Formerly a Film PR in the 80's & 90's, I moved into Script Development at Miramax, NW1 and was Head of Drama Development at STV too. I have been an agent at the Ki Agency for over two years now and I’m proud to represent fourteen screenwriters.
What are you reading right now?
The Memory Police by Yoko Ogawa
What’s the last great book you read?
Fiction – Actress by Ann Enright
Non-fiction – Muriel Spark: The Biography by Martin Stannard
What’s your best advice for aspiring writers?
“You can only write regularly is you’re willing to write badly – accept bad writing as a way of priming the pump, a warm-up exercise that allows you to write well.” Jennifer Egan US author.
What’s the most interesting fact you’ve learnt recently?
Romans loved the beautiful scent of roses and would drop rose essential oil onto doves’ wings, so their homes would always smell wonderful as the birds flew about, indoors.
If you could live in a fictional universe, which would it be?
We’ll be back next week with another interview and some exciting agency news… stay tuned!
